“What is the point in worrying oneself too much about what one could or could not have done to control the course one’s life took? Surely it is enough that the likes of you and I at least try to make our small contribution count for something true and worthy.”—Kazuo Ishiguro | The Remains of the Day (via blogut)
Getting ready to head back to school & my mom's crying her eyes out
She does this everytime!! I’m going into my 3rd year but it still hasn’t gotten old. Seeing her cry everytime I leave always puts me in a sad mood but I could imagine how hard it is for a mom to see her “baby” go out into this crazy world alone. Despite the ups & downs, she’s who I work for; something like my muse. Those very same tears drive me. I know I can never pay her back but I will make sure she’ll only be crying tears of joy one day.
& to the fans up on it early like a nigga leaked it, just know you fuckin with the best this be our little secret. Until the world find out, & then y’all gotta share me. Till then just know it’s nothing like em & it’s nothing near me. Yeah you fucking hear me.”
“It’s tragic how few people ever ‘possess their souls’ before they die. ‘Nothing is more rare in any man’, says Emerson, ‘than an act of his own.’ It is quite true. Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their life is a mimicry, their passions a quotation.”—Oscar Wilde (The Complete Letters of Oscar Wilde)
“What I hate the most about school? - The fact that it is a business that I have to support in order to have a certain standard of living in America. I hate capitalism.”—theafrosistuh.tumblr.com (via swagandpassion)
If you’re confident then people say you’re cocky. If you’re humble they assume you have a low self-esteem. Speak your mind and you’re too assertive, remain silent and you’re a punk. Be friendly and you’re intrusive, keep to yourself and you think you’re too good for everybody. Maximizing your talents means your hungry for glory and attention but letting your abilities go unnoticed must mean you’re lazy and ungrateful.
And we wonder why people are confused, discouraged, and don’t know how to interact with others. The only person who is fully aware of the intent of an individual’s behavior is the individual doing the behaving. Everyone else is but a mere spectator with comments here and there, but no one really knows the purpose of the manner in which someone goes about carrying themself except for the person being scrutinized. We can all have our opinions, as reasonable or nonsensical as they may be, but no one knows what goes on in the mind of another except for the person who’s mind everyone is so focused on.
